Linda, Lucas, Mary Pavelco and Steve Salt did almost all the packing and I tried to put the final touches on at work. Steve Salt brought Sorrel over for camp and was a big help fixing things and packing. Mary got in Monday night and she jumped right in. Luke is driving Stan & Susan's rig out so we can get another ATV out at camp. This will help the roading load especially when we get up to the longer times on the rig. Lee Shoaf dropped dogs off on Wednesday morning and he did our mass buys of dog bones and meat
Plans were to leave around noon but it was more like 2:30 before we pulled down the road and made it 2 miles before we remembered I left a suitcase on the couch that had all our needs for the trip. We flipped a 180 while Lucas with Mary behind headed to Cherry Valley to meet Susan and pick an attachment for his IPOD – got to have!!!!!
We tried to catch up and he got stuck on the south side of Rockford – all in all it took 2 hours to go the first 45 miles. Not a good sign! We finally all got together and headed west. Our delay had Bob G. already at Dubuque so he continued on looking for a place to stop. We were pretty far behind our expected time but Bob wasn't having any luck getting us anything reasonable. We were now making pretty good time and decided to make it to Ft. Dodge. We got there right and dark – got the dogs all out and made it to eat before they closed at 10:30. A little rushed but it all worked out.
