On the road by 8:30 and smooth sailing all day. We pulled into Ainsworth about 3:30, filled up the trucks and down the road to camp, It was a bit over 90 in town. It feels good to be "HOME". We took the road past Painters to camp and say hay all over the place. Hundreds of bales – the most we've seen in years. Fresh cut hay laid in thick piles – more density and green – almost lush. Something to see and good for the ranchers.
We pulled into camp and everything was overgrown with the grass as nobody had a chance to move equipment this way so we just hiked through the grass. Jason managed to get a path cut for us along the dog row to allow up to put out barrels and stakeouts for dogs. The next problem was water as the well was out and no water to be had. Jason and his friend came over and Bob worked with them trying to fix the well. Linda cleaned up in the house and Lucas & Mary put out the horses and cleaned out the trailers. I started with barrels and we got rolling. Devin came by and he went to town to get a new well pump. In a few hours, we had the dogs out, fed and settled. Our misting apparatus was intact. Ed Meyer arrived and we had a few more dogs. Ed jumped in and started putting things together. He's a vet setting up camp and a truly great help.
We made some sandwiches and hit the hay about 10:30 – a tired crew but everything in place. The animals all looked good – no injuries, no unplanned matings ( that we know of)!!!!!!! A good start to camp.
