A nice clear day and a touch of coolness. We decided to head south and try the next field. Along the way we stopped and let Bert (ES pup) foot hunt where we had a single get up. No luck but he looked good and was front while they worked him.

Hills:

• Bert - stated above.

• Homer & Jimmie – they ran them on Sidell's meadow while we got every thing ready. Ran about 20 min – some improvement – no birds.

• Erin & Buck - Erin was slow to start but forward with Buck reaching well with good speed and drive. A huge covey(20-25 ) chickens got up – or could've been a mixed bag but no dogs around. We saw 2 antelope early and then a nice mule deer later and another single but unfortunately no dog work. Buck the stronger of the 2 but Erin improved significantly the 2nd half. 30+ minutes. Maybe 27 – 30 birds.

• Shauna, Sol & Jordy – already starting to warm a bit. The best we could get was a STF on Sol and only a few birds seen. Shauna probably ran the best overall with all of them capable of improvement. 30 min.


• Striker & Tippy - Both pretty erratic races although Striker showed some good moves. Still real young dogs.


We called it a morning as it was warming up quite a bit. We ate some breakfast/lunch and Bonnie & Dennis hit the road. Good to see them – sure hope they can make it back. Bonnie should be coming for sure but Dennis is in the mist of big merger plans that are changing his job and it's just tough to get away.

A sunny warm afternoon, some solid naps, trip to the store and a plan for dinner. Still have to wait for mowing to get any birdwork done. Birds are doing fine at this point.
A nice meal by Bob and called it a day.
