It was a very cool wet night and is rained until mid morning with just a gentle rain all night. About ½" of precipitation which is always welcome here on the ranch. Slows down haying but good for the land over the long run. We got up this morning and decided to bird work when the rain stopped. Roger and crew came down to round up bulls so Luke and Bob went to help. I didn't figure on my knee being quite ready to take that type of riding.

The rain continued and we got to doing other things. Checked on our birds and tried to get the old ATV running. Sure glad we took Phil's – it runs great. The other one is giving us a problem. Might have to take it into town.

Some dogs are having a hard time with weight and we're pouring the coals to them. The crew came back and Bob was in 1 piece and only a slight contact with a bull.

We got the gazebo up tonight – finally able to eat out. Devin, Jason & Heather stopped by and we visited. A bit later Joe, Lori & Raenn came by and visited too. They brought some UPS stuff that was sent to them for us. Great to see them & they confirmed no Country Music Festival this year. They're reviving the committee for next year. We hit the hay and the dogs started barking & barking & barking. I guess a bitch is getting close to prime – what a night – very poor sleeping. Rio ( very big boy) was loose this morning and we caught him and attached him to the bulldozer – maybe he won't move that – if so we can enter him in the strongest 'dog' competition.
